A Career of Leadership in Colorado’s Legal System

April D. Jones brings more than 30 years of legal experience to the Committee, including 25 years leading one of Colorado’s largest family law practices. She founded Jones Law Firm, PC in 2000 and has built it into a team of 44 attorneys and legal professionals that has handled more than 4,000 cases across the state.

The appointment joins a record of service at the highest levels of Colorado law. Jones is the incoming President of the Colorado Bar Association, where she will lead the state’s approximately 30,000-member professional organization beginning in 2027. She has twice served as President of the Sam Cary Bar Association (2005 and 2021), was appointed by Governor Bill Ritter to a six-year term on the Colorado Supreme Court Nomination Commission, and co-chairs the U.S. District Court advisory committee — appointed by Senators Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper — that recommends candidates for Colorado’s federal bench.
