Absolom A. Herrera

For Absolom, building a legal career was always about expanding his reach to help people when it matters the most. Raised in Westminster and Arvada, he set his sights early on higher education, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Finance from Regis University, and then earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law in 2015.

Absolom originally envisioned working in corporate law to complement his family’s entrepreneurial background. But shortly after passing the Colorado Bar, a chance conversation at his family’s longstanding Westminster restaurant, Los Arcos Mexican Restaurant, shifted his trajectory. A local managing attorney, who had been a long-time customer of his family’s business, realized Absolom had just been licensed as a lawyer and offered him his first associate role. While stepping into family law was unexpected, Absolom quickly found his calling in the work. He recognized that family litigation was not just a technical exercise; it was a high-stakes turning point where clear direction and steady counsel could fundamentally change someone’s future.

Since entering private practice in 2016, Absolom has built over a decade of continuous courtroom experience across the Denver metro area, including Adams, Boulder,Broomfield, and Jefferson counties. As a Senior Attorney at Jones Law Firm, he brings a fluent Spanish practice and deep legal knowledge to complex dissolution of marriage actions, allocation of parental responsibilities matters, maintenance and child support modifications, relocation disputes, and marital/cohabitation agreements.

Absolom’s courtroom approach is built on empathetic, but unflinching honesty and long-term vision. In high-conflict divorces and custody battles, where emotions can cloud decision-making, Absolom cuts through the noise. What you may not know: Outside the courtroom, Absolom’s life is anchored in community service, faith, and family. An ordained minister since 2018, he has spent years teaching and mentoring children, youth, and adults in his church. At home, he and his wife recently welcomed a baby girl, who keeps their schedule lively, alongside their dog, Simba. Absolom approaches both life and law with a dedication to continuous personal growth, taking on every new challenge with adaptability and purpose.
