16 Ways I Blew My Marriage

While perusing through Pinterest one evening I happened across this pin with a rather comical but sad picture. The caption being, “16 Ways I Blew My Marriage”, by Dan Pearce. In his article he lists things he had done wrong in his marriage that he wished he could “do-over”. The reason I want to share this article is because I think many people wish for “do-overs” too often.

As the old saying goes, “If you’re going to do something, do it right the first time.” We typically apply this quote to everyday things such as house work or work projects etc. But we don’t really think to apply it to our relationships. I feel this is because of the “do-over” effect. But keep in mind not everyone will be willing to give someone a second chance. So we have to stop using our fall back for “do-overs” and second chances to save us.

We are all human and we can’t get everything right. But if you know you aren’t making an effort in your relationship, this needs to be addressed. Now, not tomorrow, not in a week, right now! Take Dan’s experience and learn from it. Granted it’s written from the man’s perspective in a marriage, however ladies, this can also be applied to you. It’s a two way street in any relationship.

Also keep in mind this advice can be applied to any relationship as well. Whether it be a marriage, boyfriend-girlfriend etc. Start using this now, not when it’s too late. Never stop doing the “cute” things that made you fall for that person in the first place. Too often we pull out all the stops in the beginning, which is okay.
